Welcome to the enlightenment wiki for Mr. Hall's Period 1 World history course.

Instructions: The following assignment will be completed in groups of two. Choose a person from the enlightenment who you will research and for whom you will prepare a thorough historical study. Your research should include:
A- place the key person in the context of the enlightenment
B- What was their role in the Enlightenment.
C- What is their one Big Idea
D- Find a quotation from a primary document that illustrates the Big Idea.
E. How is the writing / role reflective of the Englightenment.

After you have gathered all the required information on your historical figure, you must create a new page in this wiki where you will present to your classmates what you have learned. The new page should be titled with the name of your historical figure.

Once all groups have completed their wiki pages, you are required to investigate the other pages in this wiki and question or comment on the information presented in the other pages. The "owner/writers" of the wiki pages are required to provide an appropriate response to the comments and questions asked.

Your mark will be based on the quality of the wiki page that you contributed (including clarity of layout and depth and quality of information), the number of questions you ask others, the scope and depth of the questions, and the appropriateness and level of your responses to others' questions to you.

Step One. Use this wiki as a "home hub," from which you will collaborate with your group member(s) in preparing the material for your project. The content is explained above. How you present it is up to each group. On your individual wiki page you may include images, maps, digital / audio / film clips or anything else that will make page interesting and informative.

Step Two: Read all Enlightenment figure pages that your classmates have produced. Another step is going to require you to write a reflection paragraph(s). Therefore, you must understand the role and impact of these figures. To help you , you should post questions using the Disscussion tab at the top of the page to the authors of the figures you are reflecting on. Those authors must respond. All will be evaluated on the questions asked and the answers given.

Step Three: In addition to the Enlightenment figure page, each student must produce a reflection paragraph (or two) on what we will title the "Reflection Page." The reflective paragraph(s) will answer the following question: How did any two Enlightenment figures, excluding yours, contribute to today's modern world? You must read all the other student's figure pages, reflect on the question and then access the "Reflection Page" and post your personal paragraph response.
